THE PROMISES OF A NEW BEGINNING

new-beginnings_t_nv

There come a time when a new page is needed to be open, a time when a fresh start is required. A time where decisions are on the crossroad.

The new beginning is an era of new walk with Christ Jesus, an era where carnality is nailed to the cross of Christ Jesus. The new beginning is an initial and crucial stage of a closer walk with God, a time where a solid foundation is needed for a new start. The new beginning is a fresh start where by the old foundation cannot carry the new structures and standards of God.

The new beginning is a time and season where by you forget the past: past failures, trials, defeats, problems, guilt, bondage, and calamities. And you look only unto Jesus. Hebrews 12:1-2.

New beginning is an era where credibility and honesty becomes maximum priority. A time where No is No and Yes is Yes! It’s a time when purity and holiness is no more an option, but a Divine mandate.

Promises attached to the New Beginning

  1. The former things are by gone.

Isaiah 42:9:

Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

God is assuring us that old things are by gone. We cannot put a new wine into an old one it will sour it. A new start, prize, goal, and target are needed now.

God is promising to do new and great things in the new beginning. Better covenant, better start than we have had in times past.

Isaiah 43:18-19:

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

God is promising to do greater things than He has done before. God is saying forget the former things, better days are ahead.

God will do a new thing it shall spring forth. Do you get the revelation here?

Spring Forth: This means for a new thing to happen, there must be the Planting of the Lord. Isaiah 61:3b: a time where God is going to plant new things, the seed of: greatness, prosperity, purity, righteousness, holiness, success and lots more.

God is promising to make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. God is promising us, if only we can fully trust Him. God is guaranteeing us that in the new start, He will be our Shepard and we will not lack anything good. He will be our provider. Psalm 23.

  1. The promises of Mercies and Unfailing Love.

Isaiah 43:25:

I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

God is assuring us that the new start comes with total pardon. He said He has blotted out our sins. This implies the devil can no longer accuse us. The devil has no say over our lives because God Has forgiven us all.

The blood of Jesus washes us as white as snow. It cries for mercy, it speaks better things than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:24b.

God is saying, “ He will not remember our sins” our past is forgotten.

Don’t get me wrong!!!

“ Wrong doing is never right, and sin has it payday. Trust me, it is not a good payday.” But grace will find and locate us; it will help us deal with the consequences.

  1. There is complete Redemption with the New Beginning.

Isaiah 44:22:

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

Our transgression and sins are as a cloud, a thick cloud. They interpose and separate us form God. But God is still assuring us that with the decision for a new beginning, He will take away this thick cloud, this burden so we can have a better fellowship with Him.

To have a new start we only need to perform these three things

928724_854888511231689_2071300305_n

  • Walk on the High Way of Holiness: Isaiah 35:8.

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

This is the way of Godliness, the way of Holy worship, Holy conversation and most importantly: Holy living.

The way of holiness carries righteous duties in which we ought to walk and press forward with our eyes focus on Jesus, which is our ultimate goal as Christians.

  • Walk on the Old Path, the Good Old Way: Jeremiah 6:16.

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said; We will not walk therein.

This is the good old way, the old time religion. We have an Unchanging God in a Changing World. His Words, Rules and Standards remain the same!

We need to follow God and obey Him fully to benefit from this new start. It might look very difficult but it is very possible.

God wants to have a new covenant with us. Not the old ones, He wants to be our God and We His people. He wants His laws to be on the table of our hearts written there. He wants us to practice the true religion of truth and holiness.

  • Sow in Righteousness and Reap Mercy: Hosea 10:12.

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

When you sow in righteousness, you will reap mercy. God wants us to break that fallow/harden ground of sin and worldly pleasures. We need to cleanse our heart from all unfruitful affections and lust, which are as weed and be of a broken and contrite spirit.

Finally,

  • We need to be wise and very vigilant in the journey of the new beginning. We should sow a seed of holy and righteous living. We need to return to the practice of good works according to the law of God. Lets feed our faith, so our flesh can starve and loose its grip over us: Galatians 5:16.
  • Every action is a seed sown let us sow in righteousness. Let us sow what we ought to sow (Holiness and Righteous living). Let us do what we ought to do and we shall have the benefits of it.
  • To get the full benefits of the new beginning, we need to seek God and grace to press on. “ For by strength shall no man prevail.” We can’t run this race on our own, but His grace is very sufficient for us.
  • It is time for us to seek and look for God; if we do our part, He will do His. If we sow to ourselves in righteousness, if we be willing and obedient, if we be diligent and careful to do our rightful duties in dependence upon His Grace: Then He will shower down His Grace upon us and will rain Righteousness upon us. Righteousness is what we need to practice, for by the grace of God we are what we are.

Remember: 2Corinthians 7:1.Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

We have these promises but we have to cleanse ourselves from all dirt’s of the Flesh and Spirit. WE MUST PRACTICE HOLINESS IN THE FEAR OF GOD.

  1. Thank you for this great post, Pastor Zino. I really needed it this Sunday morning.

Most of the times what holds us back in the season of new beginnings is our reluctance to change. Often a new season, is a call to the unknown, where we lose familiarity. Unfortunately, familiarity is often our personal driver, it is our signal and proof of control. Losing control is painful, but requires trust. The question then becomes, can we trust God enough to launch into the season of new beginnings?
