THE PREACHER’S UTMOST PRAYER. 1 Corinthians 9:16-27

1 Corinthians 9:16-27 (KJV)

16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.

18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

23 And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.

24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

O’ Lord see me through, Jesus see me through, there is a race that I must run, there are victories to be won! Oh God give me power every hour to be true!!! Lord Jesus see me through!!

As ordained servants of God, there is just on goal. The crown on the head and the voice that says “ Well Done and Welcome Home.”

But how do we achieve this goal? Every true believer is a minister of God and a preacher of the gospel. May I remind you, some people were specifically called, some called themselves and some was just simple availability.

Matthew 19:12.

For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

But I tell you, God Equips the Called, He never calls the Equipped! Availability is a key ingredient in the call of God.

“If God Calls you, He will Provide for the Vision.”

Apostle Paul is our example in this study, and our study is divided into three subheadings.

  • The Pattern of Self-Denial, 1 Corinthians 9:16-19.

As Christians, preaching the gospel of Christ and everything Christ stands for is unavoidable. We are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.

Romans 1:16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

To some we might look like fools and sound stupid, but whence we know our target and know that our goal is to win them to Christ, we ought to remain steadfast not boasting about it, nor feeling “ I have arrived.” It is a must as true Christians to preach the gospel.

1 Corinthians 1:18

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

 Jesus Christ said; if anyone wants to be His servant, he must first denial everything including his own self, pick up his cross and follow Jesus. Luke 14:25-33, Luke 9:23.

Self-denial is a must to become a true child of God. We have to denial ourselves a lot of things, from the way speak, to the way we act. We are now a new creature; our old lifestyles have been nailed to the cross.

There’s a reward for selfless service to God and mankind. We should never abuse the gift of God upon our lives. “ Those who preach the gospel must live the gospel”

 

  • Serving all men, 1 Corinthians 19-23.

As workers in the vineyard, we ought to remember,

“Your Goal is very much more Important than the Role you Play.”

If we have this at the back of our mind, certainly we will preach Christ effortlessly and selflessly. Our utmost desire for should be the desire of total flexibility. I mean we have to be flexible to change in accordance to God’s words and will. Apostle Paul became four different persons on four different occasions.

And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might, by all means, save some.

 But notice, he was still under God’s commandments and rules. He did not break any of them to please men.

He talks about becoming a Jew so that he could win the Jews; those under the law so he could win them; those without the law; and to the weak he became weak. At the end of the day, he became all things to men, in pursuit of saving them. As fellow laborers in the vineyard, we need to study our situation before we can lead the situation.

We need to add value to our work as ministers before God is going to give us direction.

  • Striving for a Crown, 1 Corinthians 26-27.

This is it!

I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 

But I keep under my body and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

There is a race to run, a crown to be worn. If we truly understand this, our walk with God will have a huge impact on our service towards the propagation of the gospel of Christ. We have to run with Focus, Train & Compete with Passion, and Fight with Purpose and Master our Flesh.

 Mr. Flesh!

Mr. flesh is one entity that refuses to let go without a fight. Romans 7:15-25, Apostle Paul was talking about the power of the flesh confronting him and trying to prevent him from serving God.

Romans 7:15

What I don’t understand about myself is that I decide one way, but then I act another, doing things I absolutely despise.

Galatians 5:16 give us the Antidote to kill the flesh, we have to walk only in the spirit and do the things that are spiritually minded.

“Watch & Pray!” notice the bible says, Watch first. We need to observe every step we are taking and everything we are doing. Focus on the high calling of God in Christ Jesus lay aside every weight of sin and never pamper our weaknesses. Deal with our internal rubbish, confront our foundation because it will spring up and destroy our calling. We need to set our affections on the things that are above, mortify our body, (fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness). We need to put off the old man, which is lying, anger, lust, greed, pride, and filthy communication. Only then can we safeguard ourselves. It is compulsory we put on the new man and practice charity (love), which is the golden rule in becoming perfect in our walk with Christ. This guarantees our finishing well. Col 3:1-17. 

Col 4:2 &17

Finally, continue in prayer and watch in the same with thanksgiving. Please take heed to the ministry, which you have receive from God, that you may fulfill it.

Have great Passion for the Work, which exceeds our Position, Gains and personal Preferences. Remain fixed on our Mission and Flexible in our Methods in Achieving it.

Remember we have to keep under our body and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means when we have preached to others, we ourselves should be a castaway.

Our goal and target are hearing those sayings from God when we have gone the last mile of the way, and we are resting at the close of the day. We only want to hear God say.

“ Well Done & Welcome Home My Good & Faithful Servant!”

Remembers the true Picture, less you lose site of the Vision. Priority is key, Discernment is Priceless.

COME LET US REASON TOGETHER; “THOUGH YOUR SINS!”

Isaiah 1:18.

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

The book of Isaiah is a book of restoration and reformation. God spoke through prophet Isaiah and gave lots of prophecies in the restoration of the lost glory of His people Israel.

From verse one of this chapter, God was talking about the sin of the nation of Judah. In verse eleven God was asking them: to what purpose is the multitude of their sacrifices? They are vain obligations. In vain they worshiped God. He wasn’t really interested in their burnt offerings, their motives and intentions were totally wrong. God didn’t see it as an act of obedience.

Upon verse twelve He asked them: who has required these things at your hand?

Is not that God was not willing to accept their sacrifices, or He is happy rejecting the offerings of His people. But their iniquity made God unhappy with them.

Isaiah 59:1-2.

“Behold, the Lord ‘s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

 God is closer than we think He actually is to us, it’s our iniquity, our lifestyles, our deeds that are making Him stay far away.

God gave His people a new page, a blank sheet to start all over again. It was a new opportunity, He refused to allow them to wander and waste in their sins. God is not rejecting us, He is calling us back. He wants us to negotiate and find a perfect way according to His standards out of our sins, and to set us free from the destructive power of sin.

God is telling us to forsake our old lives and put away that sin that so easily beset us. And focus only on God, who is the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:1-2.

God is pleading here with us saying, “ Come and let us talk, reason, negotiate together: though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” God wants to have a chat with us, He wants us to think and agree together, He wants to see reasons with us. He doesn’t want us to be entangled in the bondage of sin.

The Call To Repentance

God is saying: if you will want eternal life and power that surpasses human understanding, you must begin a new walk with Christ in complete obedience to His rules and Laws.

We must cease to do evil; we must wash and make ourselves clean and whole again. We must learn too well. This is necessary for having complete repentance and turn around.

It is not just enough if we stop living the old. It is very important that we put on the new man and learn to live a righteous life, holy and acceptable to God.

We must continue doing well, our motives must be right. We must practice righteous living so we can have an expected end. We must learn to do well; we must take pains to get the knowledge of our duty, be inquisitive concerning it, in care about it and accustom ourselves to it. That we may become a master of this holy art of doing well.

We must seek judgment and justice; enquire what is right, that we may apply it to our everyday lives.

Finally family!

God is begging us that we can still come as we are to Him, but we cannot remain as we are. He wants to wash us as white as snow!!!

He is saying, while our hands are stained with sin and our hearts are filled up with the guilt of the past, He is still ready to accept us if only we can be washed in the blood of Jesus.

God is giving only one simple condition, which is: Break off your league with sin and you shall be welcomed into His covenant and you will have fellowship and communion with Him.

Though your sins are as red as scarlet, and crimson, though you are under the guilt of blood, yet upon your repentance, you shall be forgiven and you shall appear in the sight of God as white as snow.

 If you be willing and obedient!!!

 Obedience is important to have a sweet ride with Christ. Others maybe having it their own way, some may say it doesn’t matter, “ God Understands.” It is true! But God will not go against His words for your own selfish interest. He honors His words more than His name. And am happy to tell you that the devil understands as well and there are consequences for everything we are going either good or bad.

 Let us reason together…

There are lots of goodies waiting for us, we only need to obey. If we make ourselves clean by repentance and reformation, God will make us whole by full remission. If we are obedient, the good of the land, the promises of the new covenant will be ours.

 But if we rebel vs 20!! We will have ourselves to blame; the consequences of disobedience will come upon us.

And Now Life and Death, Good and Evil are set before us; come and let us reason together! What have you to object to complying with God’s conditions?

THE PROMISES OF A NEW BEGINNING

There come a time when a new page is needed to be open, a time when a fresh start is required. A time where decisions are on the crossroad.

The new beginning is an era of new walk with Christ Jesus, an era where carnality is nailed to the cross of Christ Jesus. The new beginning is an initial and crucial stage of a closer walk with God, a time where a solid foundation is needed for a new start. The new beginning is a fresh start where by the old foundation cannot carry the new structures and standards of God.

The new beginning is a time and season where by you forget the past: past failures, trials, defeats, problems, guilt, bondage, and calamities. And you look only unto Jesus. Hebrews 12:1-2.

New beginning is an era where credibility and honesty becomes maximum priority. A time where No is No and Yes is Yes! It’s a time when purity and holiness is no more an option, but a Divine mandate.

Promises attached to the New Beginning

  1. The former things are by gone.

Isaiah 42:9:

Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

God is assuring us that old things are by gone. We cannot put a new wine into an old one it will sour it. A new start, prize, goal, and target are needed now.

God is promising to do new and great things in the new beginning. Better covenant, better start than we have had in times past.

Isaiah 43:18-19:

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

God is promising to do greater things than He has done before. God is saying forget the former things, better days are ahead.

God will do a new thing it shall spring forth. Do you get the revelation here?

Spring Forth: This means for a new thing to happen, there must be the Planting of the Lord. Isaiah 61:3b: a time where God is going to plant new things, the seed of: greatness, prosperity, purity, righteousness, holiness, success and lots more.

God is promising to make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. God is promising us, if only we can fully trust Him. God is guaranteeing us that in the new start, He will be our Shepard and we will not lack anything good. He will be our provider. Psalm 23.

  1. The promises of Mercies and Unfailing Love.

Isaiah 43:25:

I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

God is assuring us that the new start comes with total pardon. He said He has blotted out our sins. This implies the devil can no longer accuse us. The devil has no say over our lives because God Has forgiven us all.

The blood of Jesus washes us as white as snow. It cries for mercy, it speaks better things than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:24b.

God is saying, “ He will not remember our sins” our past is forgotten.

Don’t get me wrong!!!

“ Wrong doing is never right, and sin has it payday. Trust me, it is not a good payday.” But grace will find and locate us; it will help us deal with the consequences.

  1. There is complete Redemption with the New Beginning.

Isaiah 44:22:

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

Our transgression and sins are as a cloud, a thick cloud. They interpose and separate us form God. But God is still assuring us that with the decision for a new beginning, He will take away this thick cloud, this burden so we can have a better fellowship with Him.

To have a new start we only need to perform these three things

  • Walk on the High Way of Holiness: Isaiah 35:8.

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

This is the way of Godliness, the way of Holy worship, Holy conversation and most importantly: Holy living.

The way of holiness carries righteous duties in which we ought to walk and press forward with our eyes focus on Jesus, which is our ultimate goal as Christians.

  • Walk on the Old Path, the Good Old Way: Jeremiah 6:16.

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said; We will not walk therein.

This is the good old way, the old time religion. We have an Unchanging God in a Changing World. His Words, Rules and Standards remain the same!

We need to follow God and obey Him fully to benefit from this new start. It might look very difficult but it is very possible.

God wants to have a new covenant with us. Not the old ones, He wants to be our God and We His people. He wants His laws to be on the table of our hearts written there. He wants us to practice the true religion of truth and holiness.

  • Sow in Righteousness and Reap Mercy: Hosea 10:12.

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

When you sow in righteousness, you will reap mercy. God wants us to break that fallow/harden ground of sin and worldly pleasures. We need to cleanse our heart from all unfruitful affections and lust, which are as weed and be of a broken and contrite spirit.

Finally,

  • We need to be wise and very vigilant in the journey of the new beginning. We should sow a seed of holy and righteous living. We need to return to the practice of good works according to the law of God. Lets feed our faith, so our flesh can starve and loose its grip over us: Galatians 5:16.
  • Every action is a seed sown let us sow in righteousness. Let us sow what we ought to sow (Holiness and Righteous living). Let us do what we ought to do and we shall have the benefits of it.
  • To get the full benefits of the new beginning, we need to seek God and grace to press on. “ For by strength shall no man prevail.” We can’t run this race on our own, but His grace is very sufficient for us.
  • It is time for us to seek and look for God; if we do our part, He will do His. If we sow to ourselves in righteousness, if we be willing and obedient, if we be diligent and careful to do our rightful duties in dependence upon His Grace: Then He will shower down His Grace upon us and will rain Righteousness upon us. Righteousness is what we need to practice, for by the grace of God we are what we are.

Remember: 2Corinthians 7:1.Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

We have these promises but we have to cleanse ourselves from all dirt’s of the Flesh and Spirit. WE MUST PRACTICE HOLINESS IN THE FEAR OF GOD.

THE VICTORIOUS LIFE

A victorious life is a life worth living. Many people find it hard to attain this kind of life. Despite books, messages, mentors and uncountable means of enlightenment, a man still fails to attain the victorious life.

On of the reasons why humans fail is because we lack focus and priority. I have met lots of people who don’t understand why they were born; they don’t even know their purpose.

When you have a purpose in life, which is your scope; objectives; motives, you will be focused on fulfilling it. Your mind is fixed on it. Philippians 2:5-11 tells us about Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour how fixed and focused He was to His mission of coming to earth. He refused to allow distraction and temptation to take Him away from His original plan.

To be victorious there are certain things we should focus on and give our maximum attention to, these things are God, Destiny Career, and Marriage. Noticed I followed a particular pattern. Isaiah 28:10. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. When you know God, you are going to understand your Destiny. When you understand the kind of destiny you have and you are supposed to fulfill, then you are going to make the right Career. When you have understood these three things, trust me your Marriage will be directed in the right path.

God comes first because when you truly focus on God, He leads you and makes you achieve the other three (Destiny, Career, and Marriage).

Focus makes you plan ahead, Men fail because of broken focus. Focus makes you see what you need to see only and at the right time. Focus is like a glue: it keeps you intact and fixed to want you have made up your mind to do. There is no achievement in life, that focus is not 100% needed.

Where your Focus is, there lies your heart and mind.

If a man focus is diverted, the destiny of that man as well is diverted.

The two major rules to a victorious life are to PLAN AHEAD & FOCUS:

 

P: Predetermine your course of action.

L: Lay out your goals.

A: Adjust your priorities. (This is very important: First things first).

N: Notify key Personal.

 A: Allow time for acceptance.

H: Head into action.

E: Expect problems

A: Always point to your success.

D: Daily review your progress.

 

F: Fight to the end.

O: Opposition will come.

C: Consistent despite all.

U: Unique victory.

S: Stable ending.

 To live the victorious there are rules to follow.

  • Make obedience your first priorities Psalm 119:9-11.
  • Never wait to see what the people around you want to do, hurry up and do what is right.
  • Makes eternal lasting decisions, not temporarily.
  • Deeply appreciate your past, without worshiping it.
  • Value results in more than image and reputation.
  • Know that to influence others you have to stand out and be a defender of righteousness.
  • Never weaver from your understanding of what is right.
  • Trust in God more than your gifts.
  • Re-enforce your week points.
  • Reassure yourself, refuse to quit.
  • Renew your strength continually.
  • Make glorifying God your ultimate goal.

Finally, you have to live ahead of your contemporaries: see what others can’t see and do what they don’t want to do. To succeed in this trying times you have to live above your circumstances and look only to Jesus, Hebrews 12:1-2. Live deeper than your calamity and in all; Live beyond your capabilities. Always aim high. Make God your friend, do the right thing. Stand-alone even if no one stands with you. Just make sure you do the right thing in the sight of God.

Refuse to play games with God. Don’t play with your destiny on the altar of pleasure like Samson. Get serious with your salvation.

A life without Christ is Shattered Dreams.

STAYING FOCUSED TO SUCCEED.

The word FOCUS is probably one of the most used words for people aiming to be successful. Most successful people when interviewed they say one of their key principles to success was FOCUS. What is Focus? An act of concentrating interest or activity on something, the center of interest or activity. The point at which an object must be situated for it to be well defined. Pay particular attention to something. From the Biblical aspect, I define Focus as Priority. Isaiah 2:10. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.

What is Priority? The fact or condition of being regarded or treated as more important than others. When first things come first. Doing something that is regarded as more important than others. Everyone that had great success in the Bible was people that had a purpose and they focused on their goal and vision. God told Joshua that he would have Good Success if only he could Meditate day and night. This meant He needed to Focus on the Laws and Rules of God for Him to be successful. Joshua 1:8. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. This verse is telling us that there are two kinds of success. Normal Success and A GOOD SUCCESS. When your meditate you focus your attention on that thing. “Your Engagements To The Laws Of God; Will Make You A Lord In What Ever You Do!” There is a man in the Bible called Elisha; this man is the definition of Focus. Elisha was the servant of Elijah. Elijah was a prophet during the era of king Ahab and queen Jezebel of Israel. After prophet, Elijah had finished disgracing the prophets of Baal in Mount Carmel and slew 450 of them in 1Kings 18. In chapter 19, king Ahab told his wife Jezebel what had happened. Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah and promised to kill him within 24 hours. Wel, the great the prophet was scared and he fled for his life. He asked God to take his life, and God told him to anoint two kings and also Anoint Elisha as a prophet in his stead.

6253.elizej_12 Elijah met Elisha plowing with twelve yolks of oxen in the field. He passed by him and cast his mantle upon him, immediately Elisha ran after him and said; “ Let me I pray thee, kiss my father & mother, and then I will follow you.” Something strange happened in verse 20! Elisha took a yolk of oxen and slew them, and prepared a meal with the INSTRUMENTS OF THE OXEN, and gave them to his people. They ate and he arose and went after Elijah to minister unto him.Elisha actually burned everything that will make him go back to the past. He needed maximum concentration to be able to serve his master. He destroyed the bridged that will make him go back to the old self. When the time came for Elijah to be taken up into heaven in 2Kings 2, Elisha knew about it, the sons of the prophets knew about it as well. “ In the Path of Greatness, you can’t hide your Potentials. You can only protect it with prayer and staying Diligent.” At this point in the life of Elisha, distraction arose from even corner, he was cast down, perplex, troubled on every side but Elisha Discouraged his Discouragements. Elisha followed his master from Gilgal-Bethel-Jericho-Jordan. At each point in time, Elijah told Elisha to wait in Bethel, Jericho and Jordan. Note that Elisha was focused on his goal, he knew what he wanted: The Double Portion Anointing; he did not allow the distractions around him to stop rom achieving his goal. Elisha told Elijah his master, “ As The Lord Lives & As Your Soul Lives; I Will Not Let Thee Go!” Distraction is the enemy of focus it can come from anybody!!! The sons of the prophets, the messengers of God, they were the available tools that the devil used to try and distract Elisha. They met him at Bethel and Jericho and asked him: “ Know that the lord will take away your master from you today? His response was so perfect, I know; I’m Aware But HOLD YOUR PEACE, BE STILL DON’T SPEAK OF IT!!” Elisha was a focus, he wasn’t ready for side talks and distractions of gossips, who said this and who said that. The double portion of the anointing was his goal. He did not allow the pain of loosing his master to overshadow his objectives. He knew what he wanted and walked towards it. When they arrived in Jordan, Elijah asked Elisha for the third time to wait here in Jordan but Elisha refused. Now the sons of the prophets stood afar and saw how Elijah used his mantle to path the river Jordan and they both passed through dry land. Elisha was focused be he knew that he will have to cross the same Jordan river to get back to his destination. After crossing Jordan, all the distracting forces and element could not do anymore harm to Elisha, they could watch from afar but they could not distract him anymore. Elisha had passed a major test. The double portion anointing was sure. “ There is a particular bridge you must cross, it is the bridge of maximum concentration in whatever you are doing. Once you cross this bridge, the spirit of distraction is not able conquer you anymore.” Elijah had to come to terms with his servant Elisha. He asked Elisha, What is it that I can do for you before am taken up into heaven? Immediately, Elisha asked for what he has been longing for, “ The Double Portion Anointing.” There was a condition; this condition had already been met before. The condition was; “ If you see me when am being taken away from you!” Well Elisha was not blind, they have crossed Jordan together. They started the journey from Gilgal-Bethel-Jericho-Jordan Elisha was focused. Prophet Elijah was taken up and his Mantle fell, Elisha cried with a loud voice.“ My father my father the chariot of Israel and the horsemen.” Elisha picked up the mantle and went straight to the Jordan River. Now Jordan River became an obstacle and Elisha must overcome this obstacle.“ For every new level you attain in life, you will surely meet a new devil.” He used the mantle and smote the waters of Jordan and said; “ Where is the Lord God of Elijah?” The waters of the Jordan River pathways for him to walk on dry land. After crossing Jordan coming back with the mantle of Elijah with him. The same sons of the prophets that were distracting him, those unfriendly friends, they were the first to testify of the Anointing upon his life. They said; “ The Spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha.” They came and Bowed themselves to the ground before him and asked him to heal the waters of Jericho. 31118_000_038_05 Now this is deep! (Remember in Joshua 6:26, Joshua placed a curse on the land). Until you prove to the world and attain certain height in life, no one is going to regard you. You have to stay focus to get the best. To be the best God has destined you to be, you have to give maximum attention to your dreams, your goals, your objectives and your destiny. When you fulfil destiny according to God’s standard, those that wrote you off, that said you will never amount to anything good and that you will never make it will be the first set of people that will ask you for solutions and help to their own problems. You don’t need money to stay focus, you only need your mind, make up your heart and decide you will not be distracted by the distractions around you.?????????

Why should you stay focused? The only answer to this question lies in 1 Corinthians 16:9. For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. We want to defeat the problems at the edge of breakthrough. There is a great door of blessings, promotions the devil will not just fold his hands and let you have them, you must beat him at his own game. You must be wise and vigilant to his devices. A simple breakthrough will change your story and history. Before every breakthrough, there’s a harder battle to fight, one of the key weapon for victory during this battle is Focus. Total concentration gives an edge towards victory in the battles of life. Every man destined to be great have a battle to win against the spirit of distraction. “At the edge/peak of your breakthrough, the devil becomes real to you.” You need total concentration to defeat the spirit of almost there, which is the spirit of Mouth Pisgah, which is the spirit of almost there. (I will blog on that someday!), the near success syndrome. Just like Elisha, Joshua Caleb, David, Joseph, Ruth, and Esther. These great men and women of God were focused people. God is not going to use a man that is easily distracted. Forget the past and press one for the price for greatness, there is a race to run, a price to win, a crown at the close of the day. You can’t afford to loose concentration. Let the glory of your future/tomorrow be the fuel that will propel you during these hard times, better days are ahead you just need to be consistent in the good things you are doing. I encourage you to have a target, aim at it, and never look back. Refuse to be distracted. People can say what ever they feel like. That shouldn’t get to you. “ The opinions of others don’t define you.” Know who you are and what God has placed inside of you. Pursue your dreams, Shoot for the Moon; if you don’t get there, at least you will land among the Stars.
