UNITY “THE POWER OF ONE ACCORD”

You can do what I cannot do, I can do what You cannot do, But this one thing is sure

“Together we can do great things.”

You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all. Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness. Ephesians 4:5-6.

 

 What is Unity? There are so many definitions, every able human being can give a definition. From the 66 Book Love Story (The Bible), the definition of unity comes from studying the lives of a group of people whom our Lord Jesus Christ personally mentored. I am talking about the Apostles of Faith from Peter to Matthias to the early church.

After the death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection, He appeared unto His disciples for several times within the period of 40 days. 10 days after His ascension (Pentecost day), they received the promise of the father “The Holy Spirit.”

There is something unique about Jesus’s disciples. In John 17, while He was praying for His disciples He specifically asked God to keep them United in togetherness.

The goal is for all of them to become one heart and mind—Just as you, Father, are in me and I in you, So, they might be one heart and mind with us.Then the world might believe that you, in fact, sent me. John 17:21

The prayer was simple and very powerful: That They May Be ONE! The word unity as per Jesus’s definition is ONE, no matter how large or many we are.

“Though we are many, we are One body in Christ.”

In Acts 2 the Bible tells us, they were together in One Accord waiting patiently on the promise of the Holy Spirit in the upper room. Men and women about 120 of them, thy had one simple purpose which was: “The Pentecost!”

The promise and manifestation of the Holy Spirit through an event that transpired on the day of Pentecost could not have happened if the disciples were not united. They did more exploits for God because after the Pentecost they still stayed together in groups, no lone walker, no one taking things personally. They were there to serve the word in Holiness and Peace.

Unity seems very basic and most people sadly enough ignore the power of togetherness. If you look at the present-day church, you will notice a lot of division. Yes! I said so because group A sees themselves superior to other groups. Whereas Paul said:

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ JesusGalatians 3:28.

During the early church, disunity was coming up, because the devil understands very well the saying of Jesus in Matthew 28:31b

‘I will smite the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.’

Though Jesus meant in a good way, because persecution made them go in groups all over the world, there they preached Christ and established many churches. But the devil in this dispensation is making leaders fight each other. It is in this our time you see pastor A fighting pastor B and both members take the fight even personally. This is what disunity can cause. Paul asked the Corinthians church in 1 Corinthians 3:4-5.

“For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?”

We are so divided that even young Christian groups now swear allegiance: Group A will never attend the conferences of Group B and vice versa. All because both leaders do not agree and are not friends. Now you wonder why these generation of Christians are the most POWERLESS in history. This is because we are all practicing one form of disunity or the other.

This is very sad, but when you study the Bible deeply you will begin to understand the benefits of unity and see around you people that were united and what they achieved.

 If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care— then do me a favour: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Phil 2:1-2.

 

Unity Brings:

  1. Grace. When we are walking in unity we can do more in a united group compared to our individual strength alone.
  2. Obedience. Unity helps in keeping us in check. “No man is an island on his own, you can’t just do it by your strength Never!” We’re one body, we have one simple goal: Holiness, Righteousness, and Peace with all men, without which no man shall see God. These are easy to achieve when we walk in unity.
  3. Perseverance 2 Corinthians 4:7-end, the apostle Paul was talking about “WE” all the time. In unity, we can endure, we can stand, we can push on, we can press forward to the utmost goal in life.
  4. POWER!!!!! Yes, this is it. “United We Stand or Divided We Fall” Unity bring a strange kind of power that your enemies are too scared to understand. When a nation is united, you don’t mess with them. In Acts 4 something strange happened. When the disciples were demonstrating the power of the Holy Ghost, the rulers of the city and priests of the synagogues were challenged and in distress. They asked Peter and his group: By what Power and Authority do you perform these things? These people threaten them that they went home scared. But because of unity according to Acts 4:23-37, this story will send a chill to your body. The went home and cried as a group in One Accord to God, by the time they had finished. The bible says and I quote: And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31.

This is what unity can do. Unity brings Power which in turn brings Boldness.

Finally, dearly beloved, you can only give your best, but when combined, you will do great exploit. Stay united, stay focused. Paul told them in Philippians 3:13-17, but focus on verse 16: Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

We need to have the same mind, same goal, and the same rule to perform our duties as people of God. I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.  So, let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. Stick with me, friends. Keep track of those you see running this same course, headed for this same goal. There are many out there taking other paths, choosing other goals, and trying to get you to go along with them. I’ve warned you of them many times; sadly, I’m having to do it again. All they want is easy street. They hate Christ’s Cross. But easy street is a dead-end street. Those who live there make their bellies their gods; belches are their praise; all they can think of is their appetites.

I close by saying this,

“The way to the Top is very Lonely and when you get there it is very Boring. You will need People both on your way to the top and when you get to the top.”  Stay United.

INTIMACY: AWAKENING CALL TO A FRESH START WITH GOD, BETH-EL! Genesis 35:1.

A new beginning, a new page, a new chapter is very much needed in our lives. There are countless of stories in the Bible that tell us about people that had a fresh start with God. Ruth, Jabez, Paul the Apostle and lots more. But the story of Jacob in Genesis surpass them all.

God called Himself: God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. There is something so fascinating about the story of Jacob, it is the story of New Beginning, a New Page, a New Chapter. In Genesis 25:22, Rebekah the wife of Isaac was pregnant with twins (Esau and Jacob). They both struggled in the womb so Rebekah decided to inquire from God the fate of her twins. God told her: two great nations, the younger shall be great and the eldest shall serve the youngest. Now in Genesis 27 bros, Jacob stole the blessing of his elder bro Esau. Esau got angry and decided to kill his brother after the days of mourning for their father Isaac was over. Genesis 27:41. Jacob fled and went to stay with his maternal relations (Laban). Now we have arrived at our main topic. Genesis 28:11-22.

When Jacob was on the run from his brother, he fled into a city known as Luz. There the Sun Set, he couldn’t continue his journey anymore. He used stones to make his pillow. There that night he had a strange but power dream. On waking up he said,

“God is in this place—truly. And I didn’t even know it!”

20 years after this event Jacob was still struggling with life, served 14 years to marry two sisters, had to trick his father-in-law live stocks.  2o years earlier, he had a dream about God and a ladder to Heaven. When Jacob had issues with Esau, Esau was just one man. But in Genesis 32 when Jacob was trying to reconcile with his past using his own strength, Esau now has 400 men with him capable of bearing sword (men of war). Jacob dreamt about God 20 years ago, but he didn’t really encounter God.

“There comes a time when you hear about God; and a time when you really Encounter (see) Him” Job 42:5.

At this stage of Jacob’s life, he knew his only chance of survival was to encounter that God he dreamt about 20 years ago. In Genesis 32:24-31, his life changed completely and a new name of given to him called Israel. In verse 32 the Sun rose upon Him.  Jacob struggled for 20 years without making ends meet. At this time is was a new page, he made peace with his brother and things started to fall in place. Yet with all these changes, an Intimate relationship with God was missing. God wanted Jacob to dwell in a different place from where Jacob was.

“Your Location in life determines the Allocation you will receive in life.”

Success in every ramification in life has a lot to do with correct positioning. There is no blessing an elephant will get on top of a tree, neither will a bird be blessed inside the river.

Location matters so much to God, that was why in Genesis 35 God spoke to Jacob again saying:

God spoke to Jacob: “Go back to Bethel. Stay there and build an altar to the God who revealed himself to you when you were running for your life from your brother Esau.” Genesis 35:1

Now, this is Intimacy with God, He wants a closer walk and relationship with us.

What is Bethel? Back To Bethel Bethel is the place where you had a divine encounter with God. Bethel is the covenant place. The place where you make a deal between you and God. Bethel is the place of U-turn, the decision making place. Bethel is the crossroad between success and failure. Bethel is the place of restoration. Bethel is a place where dreams are fulfilled. Bethel is the promise land. Bethel is Zion.

There are three points in order to identify and help us examine our walk with God and value our intimate relationship with God.

 

  1. Awakening Call to your First Love: God is first and wants to occupy only the first position in our lives. The same attraction and attention we give to new things and our new fascinating friends, God is seeking the same from us. Forget whatever transpired between you and your past, it doesn’t matter to God. He wants to Re-write your life history and destiny. He wants to give us a fresh start. All we need do is to go back to Him. The Mess can be the most beautiful Message, and the sad and disgusting story will save many people from and give them hope for a second chance.

I’ve wiped the slate of all your wrongdoings.

There’s nothing left of your sins.

Come back to me, come back.

I’ve redeemed you.” Isaiah 44:22.

Balance and weigh your life now and then, how it used to be for those at are in the faith or were once in the faith?  The way you prayed, read your Bible, evangelized. Return back to God, His hands are wide open, He is waiting for us. He wants to restore us back to the Good Old Days

  1. Assuring Commitment with a Fresh Courage: A fresh start with the assurance of great success. Remember Ruth, Jabez? The asked for a fresh start, they made the U-turn. Rehab the prostitute became the great grandmother of our Saviour Jesus Christ because she made a fresh start with the courage of a great finish. There is power in a fresh start, there are lots of opportunity and promises for a new beginning. The lord Himself will plant our feet where is best for us. Remember Bro Paul, his beginning was rough but his end was amazing Philippians 3:4-16.  That is the power of a fresh start. Intimacy with God guarantees these promises.

 

  1. Abiding Consecration with God the Great Covenanter: God is a covenant keeping God. He said to Jacob:

“Arise Go back to Bethel. Stay there and build an altar to the God who revealed himself to you when you were running for your life from your brother Esau.” Genesis 35:1

Make that place of Bethel permanent, abide there, that is your correct location so you can get the better allocation that suits you. 20 years ago he dreamt about God, over 20 years later he decided to keep his own part of the covenant he made with God. It is never God’s fault; He keeps His own part of the deal. Many years later when King Jeroboam raised an altar there to worship an idol, God immediately sent a young prophet from Judah to prophesy against that altar.

God will fight for whatever you keep in His care.

Finally, Beloved let Go Back to Bethel and let us dwell there. That is the place of our rest. The place we will find rest for every situation in life. God is opening a new page for us, but we must first lay aside our garment that is stained with sin. Take off that filthy garment, practice Holiness within and without. Walk in thespiritt, kill the flesh. Only the Blood of Jesus can clean us and make us whole. God wants us to be a Vessel of Honour unto Himself where; “Purity > Lust and Holiness becomes a Life Style.”

Let us examine ourselves and take away everything that is contending with our personal relationship with God (You know what they are!).

Abba loves you more than you can imagine, He wants a close fellowship with us. Stay Pure; Live Holy & Have Fellowship with the Trinity. Draw near to God and He Will Draw near to you.

TO DELIVER HER FROM THE WAY OF THE EVIL MAN. Proverbs 2:12-15

Proverbs 2:12-15

12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;

15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:

 

The evil man? Sounds strange right? Are there really evil people out there that we must avoid? A Resounding YES! To unravel this question further, let us look at a very short history of the life of the writer. They say experience is the best teacher, of course, I totally agree. It is the best teacher for the Unwise.

King Solomon was a king, a great one that started very well. In fact, one of the few people recorded in the Bible that provoked fire from heaven. He built a temple for God in Jerusalem, when he was dedicating the temple; the Glory of God filled the whole temple and the priest could not enter into the temple to minister. This is to show how well he started, but the stranger called Lust made him err a lot. Thank God for Restoration and most importantly a Repenting heart, He later traced his steps back to God. Solomon wrote the book of proverbs out of an experience. He was the only man at that time that could give the advice about the evil man and the strange woman; because he had married just only 700 wives and 300 concubines🙈👀. After living this kind of life to the maximum he wrote the book of Proverbs.

When we talk about the evil man, what are we talking about? In the context of this post, we are for the ladies (men don’t worry next post is about the strange woman hahaha there are lots to talk about, but let us encourage our sisters and save them from the snare of the evil man so they don’t fall prey.)

Now to our beautiful sisters, what is the way of an evil man and why is it so important that Solomon had to talk about it?

The evil man is no stranger to destruction, the evil man is that unfriendly friend, the evil man is a destiny terminator. The evil man is that person that stops at nothing to bring you down. The evil man is that person that drags you into that cleverly conceal sin that you are indulging in, thinking no one will find out. The evil man is the star killer. The evil man is that in secret chapters in the book of your life that you are constantly battling with, that secret battle you can’t tell anybody about. The evil man is that man that rejoices in the evil news but turns very cold when something good is happening in the life of a sister. The evil man leaves the way of righteousness to walk in the way of darkness. The evil man is never upright, very corny, never straight forward.

As a sister, the evil man is that man that; prevents you from constantly attending church, disrupt your Bible study time and quiet time, block your communication with heaven, refuses to attend fellowship with you but will gladly drive you to a party. The evil man is that person you entered a relationship with and your spiritual life dropped from good to bad and bad to worst.

The sad truth about the evil man is they are now inside the church. There is something strange about the evil man these days, this is why it is very difficult for our sisters to detect them. The evil man has the spirit of a chameleon, they change and can easily adapt to any situation. We will discuss the only way we can overcome the evil man subsequently.

The Bible says in Proverbs 3:13 “Happy is a man who finds wisdom and who acquires understanding. wisdom is key; without it, we are actually living like someone who is physically blind. Proverbs 4:7 “Wisdom is of utmost importance, therefore get wisdom, and with all your effort work to acquire understanding. When you read further to the book of Hosea 4:6a; the same Bible is lamenting that; My people were cut off because they lacked wisdom.”

As a sister with great destiny and future ahead of you, to become successful you will need to avoid the evil in every ramification of life. As Christians Heaven is our Outmost Goal and a Successful Marriage is very Essential to achieving this goal. Who we get married to also influences our journey towards Heaven, and also the kind of Family we will raise. The devil understands these principles and knows when the Home is on Fire the Society is also on Fire. And most importantly, the Church at large. For this sole reason, his rage against the church of God is so much, and he has cleverly entered the church as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14.

A vast majority of ladies have boarded and are sailing in a particular Ship heading to Tarshish. For you to understand Tarshish in this context, you need to first understand the story of Prophet Jonah, one of the twelve minor Prophets of the Bible.  When God sent him to Nineveh to preach to them, he refused and boarded a ship to Tarshish. Many sisters have entered what Nigerians call “One Chance Bus” to destruction all because they encountered the evil man. The evil man is the Ship that leads to a place of destruction (Tarshish), the place where the presence of God will not go with you. Tarshish is the place where people lose their divine purpose, the stronghold, and city of the evil man. It’s a place where lives and destinies are destroyed.

Many sisters missed their divine purpose here on earth all because, they Met who they were supposed to Miss, and Missed who they were supposed to Meet. “THE PEOPLE YOU SHOULD MEET AND THE PEOPLE YOU MUST MISS

Ladies who were meant to be great people are stranded in the marketplace of life, solely because the met the evil man on his way to Tarshish and he succeeded in convincing them. Telling them to join his ship sailing to Nineveh, when in reality is truly sailing to Tarshish😭.

Discernment is key unfortunately, many sisters lack this gift. They cannot tell, nor differentiate a person that possesses the Spirit of God from that of the devil. Christians pray for the gift of Tongues, Prophesies and lots more, but neglecting the basic of them all which is Discernments. Proverbs 2: 11 says “Discretion(Discernment) shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:🙌🏽” The lack and inability to discern has made a lot of sisters to fall into the traps of the evil man.

There are specific people personally ordained by the devil to waste the lives of sisters with a great destiny.”THE FRAGMENTED SOUL. “SEX!” & THE VALLEY OF SOREK. Judges 16:4”  A large number of this people uses gifts to blind the eyes of our sisters, knowingly or unknowingly. Of course, sisters fall prey because of greed to #SadTruth. People wants material blessings but fail to understand the basic principles of Jesus on how to get wealth, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33” they are easily blinded by the things of this world and re showered by the things of the devil. The gifts you receive from the so-called brother in the church might actually be a cleverly conceal trap to cage them. Virtues are stolen away because of this trick. The devil is clever because he understands that, many sisters are now aware of his devices. He has now transformed into an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14. In doing this he has sent his agents into the church of God, they are hard to detect making it difficult for people to really see their true motives. As a woman, if you cannot discern you will fall prey for every ship going to Tarshish. Like I said previously, Tarshish is the place where God is not leading you to.

In this dispensation where we belong, we cannot defeat the devil by simply relying on our own strength. The bible says “for by strength shall no man prevail. 1 Sam 2:9b.” It is not by power neither is it by might, only by the Spirit of God. As a lady, you need to pray earnestly without season to overcome and escape from the trap of the evil man. Your only way is to surrender your life to God, only then He will guide you and keep you from the evil man.

As a sister with great destiny ahead of you, always remember that; “because a door has opened wide for you to do effective work, although many people are opposing you. 1 Corinthians 16:9.” The devil will stop at nothing to bring you down; he will send different (SHIP) counterfeits your way all leading to Tarshish all in the name of, RELATIONSHIP, FRIENDSHIP, PATERNERSHIP, FELLOWSHIP, COURTSHIP, SCHOLARSHIP and many other Ship leading to Tarshish. He will make you leave Zion for Babylon, he will cause you to forget the laws of God and His commandments. “Because the command is a lamp and the Law a light, rebukes that discipline are a way of life. Proverbs 6:23” Ladies please guild your heart with all diligence because out of it are the issues of life Proverbs 4:23. Don’t just Pray only, Watch and Pray, with Diligence. Don’t be fooled or blinded by the works of men, Try the Spirit, Test the Fruits. A good tree should bear good fruits. Do not fall prey to the sweet and enticing words of men to lead you astray.

For those in any of the Ship leading to Tarshish, you know them better yourself. Pray earnestly to God so He would intervene and trust me it will be very hard to do His will. You might be hurt and shattered in the process but;

“A Broken Heart is Better than A Broken or Destroyed Destiny!”

People mostly have good intentions, but because the devil is after Godly relationships, he tries to corrupt our brothers and possess them with the spirit of the evil. The results in many Christian relationships ending up like that of the world. The solution is constant prayer and meditation in the things of God, having a mentor who is filled with the Spirit of God to guide you and your partner in the ways of God. You that is still single, you need to pray and let God lead you Himself. Leave no unguarded place, no weaknesses in every area, take every virtue, every grace and fortify the whole.

Finally, Beautiful when you put all your Cares and Worries in His hands, He will put His Peace in your Hearts and Guild you through Life’s Processes.

DO YOU LOVE ME MORE THAN THESE? JOHN 21:15-17

It’s Easter period a time in which we celebrate the Death and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. For us Christian, it is a special time and it does hold a special place in our hearts, having great significance.

The faith and hope we have in God are all because Jesus died for our sins and He has risen from the dead. He led captivity captive, liberated men and gave eternal life to us. This great gift gives us the grace to have a better relationship with God our father.

After the fall of Man we needed a new start and new life, Jesus came to cement that new beginning. Reconciling man back to God.

THE FALL OF MAN & MAN’S RECONCILIATION WITH GOD.

For this reason, we call Jesus

“mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Hebrews 12:24”.

And in Ephesians 2:14 “For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;”

“JESUS THE MEDIATOR OF THE NEW COVENANT.” Hebrews 12:24.

 

On that faithful Good Friday when our Lord Jesus was crucified, it was as if nothing will work. All hope was lost until our Lord Jesus arose from the dead on the resurrection Sunday and showed Himself before them.

The first time was in John 21. Simon Peter the right-hand man of Jesus decided to go fishing since he was a man of high reputation among the disciples. The rest decided to join him. They worked that night and caught nothing. Jesus later appeared to them for the third time, at first they did not recognize him. John the beloved the disciple whom Jesus loved, recognized Him and said unto Peter. “It is the Lord.” John 21:7.

The disciples gathered together to have a wonderful time, and Jesus asked Peter a very simple question. Vs 15-17.

Peter Do You Love Me More Than This???

John 21:15-17

15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

God demonstrated His Love towards us for allowing His only begotten son to die for us John 3:16. This time around God around Jesus gave us the great commission, to spread His love to every corner of the world. This pure and undiluted agape love is spread through the gospel of Christ.  John 16:15-18, Matthew 28:16-20.

Do You Love Me More Than This? Jesus asked that question because he wanted the His disciples to see and understand how important the great commission was. Jesus went to the cross; He has played His own part it is now our turn to do the same. Our command is to go into the world and preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Peter went fishing and the other disciples joined him, Jesus promised them that He would make them fishers of men and not of fishes.

Jesus asked peter the same question three times, “Simon Son of Jonah, Loveth Me More Than These? Simon Peter replied and said Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee.

Jesus replied and said, “Feed my Lambs, and the last two answers were Feed my Sheep.”

Jesus needed to be sure of what Peter would do in His absence. If we really understand the message of Easter, then we will spread the good news of the gospel. Jesus was telling His disciples about the great commission. He gave us salvation and He expects us that have known the truth to shine His light to all corners of the world.

Easter is all about love, let us spread the love of Christ abroad.  It is a season when the promise of the Holy Spirit and its era was made many years ago.

John 16:7

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

We are in the dispensation of grace. We are saved by grace, not by our works according to Ephesians 2:8-10.

We have the “THE BORN AGAIN EXPERIENCE: Ephesians 2:1-10.” But this experience we have encountered with Jesus should not be for ourselves alone. We must tell of His love and good news to everyone around us. The power of Christianity is Manifested in Jesus and the Hope of Heaven is found in Him. But our comforter is the Gift Jesus left for us. This gift is the person of the Holy Spirit. He gives power Luke 24:49.

Finally, folks the command of the great commission is our goal and duty, Mark 16:15-18. We only need to believe, because the signs and wonders shall follow us.

WHO SHALL I SEND & WHO WILL GO FOR ME? Isaiah 6:8

Isaiah 6:8

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

After king Uzziah died, I prophet Isaiah saw God for the first time. The terrible connecting between Prophet Isaiah and King Uzziah is broken. When the eyes of Isaiah were opened he said in verse 5: Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

Like I said in our previous topic (THE PEOPLE YOU SHOULD MEET AND THE PEOPLE YOU MUST MISS), certain people or groups of people should not be in our lives if we really want to become who God intends us to be.

If God was looking for a man to send in the days of Isaiah, imagine what is happening in our days now. The question is, was Isaiah not a prophet of God? Were there no other prophets during that time who could still stand in the gap? God needed a middle man.

Ezekiel 22:30. And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.God said: “But I Found None!”

It doesn’t mean these prophets or servant of God were great sinner or fake. Though some were, the good ones were not just up to the standard God was looking for.

We will look at these four key points they are systematically ordered.

  1. After King Uzziah died prophet Isaiah saw God. This is strange but if you study the chronicles of the Kings you will understand who King Uzziah really was and what he did. Isaiah was a prophet in his times, king Uzziah was doing the job of a prophet/priest. Many people are occupying the wrong offices in life, people do things they are not suppose to do.

Success in every ramification is al about correct positioning.

To be get God into your boat you must be doing what He endorses. You cannot be a friend of the devil and you expect God to speak and empower you for a great mission Wrong! They view of so many is blocked, like they are working under a closed heave because they operate in the wrong base/place where God will not show up. The spirit of Uzziah is common and until that spirit is terminated in our lives we won’t really be able to achieve what God intends for us.

 As soon as prophet Isaiah saw God, he realized that he was a man with an Unclean Lips Isaiah 6:5. How does the Eye correlates to the Mouth? Why did Isaiah say he’s a man with Unclean Eyes?  It is what you see that you are bold enough to speak about.

 

  1. An angel brought live coal in his hands from the alter, and laid it upon his mouth saying;

Isaiah 6:7

“See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”

The eyes influences the life of a man, what you see all the time becomes a part of you. What you see always have great control over your actions.

Job said; “I made a covenant with my eyes!” Job 31:1.

David said; “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.” Psalm 199:18.

Apostle Paul said; “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,”

When your sight is correct, your vision and purpose becomes outstanding. You see what God wants you to see, understand your mistakes and errors. This narrows you down to a fulfilled life.

 

  1. Isaiah heard the voice of the Lord. Do you know why Isaiah could not hear from God all this time? Which with mouth will he use to answer God? The unclean lips?

If we follow look at it from this perspective, He saw God, He knew He was Unclean, He asked for Forgiveness, An Angel came and Purified his Lips and Atone for his Sins, He could now Hear God.

 

  1. The final point could only have happened because there was a cascade from verse 1. Which was: See God (Have an Encounter with Him); Understand and Acknowledge your Sins; Be Purged, Purified and made Whole; then finally you will Have the Father Son Relationship with God when you can speak with Him and relate with Him.

Knowing the mind and plans of God for your life comes only when you have this unique relationship with Him.

Finally, dearly beloved of God. Isaiah had an encounter with God, this lead to many beneficial things in his life. All these happened step after step, meaning our God is God of Order and Precision. According to Isaiah 28:10 Precepts must be upon precept. God is looking for a generation that He can be proud of. I so much believe that we can be that people. That man and woman, that boy and that girl that will boldly stand in the Gap.

Before this can happen, we need to put off the old man, take away that garment that us stained with sin. Lay aside every weight and sin that we easily fall into.

Prophet Isaiah realized this, and his life changed and never remained the same. From chapter 6 to chapter 66 (60 chapters later), Isaiah had wonderful stories and beautiful messages of restoration; prophesies for generations to come, He talked about our Savior Jesus Christ. All these event transpired because he had a dealing with God.

We can have this same story; we only need to be available. Let us yield to the call of God, and remember these four steps.

 

His visitation and power; Acknowledging our mistakes and the repenting heart; His purifying power to purge us and make us whole; Hearing His voice and call; Our resounding Yes and boldly professing Him.

THE PREACHER’S UTMOST PRAYER. 1 Corinthians 9:16-27

1 Corinthians 9:16-27 (KJV)

16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.

18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

23 And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.

24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

O’ Lord see me through, Jesus see me through, there is a race that I must run, there are victories to be won! Oh God give me power every hour to be true!!! Lord Jesus see me through!!

As ordained servants of God, there is just on goal. The crown on the head and the voice that says “ Well Done and Welcome Home.”

But how do we achieve this goal? Every true believer is a minister of God and a preacher of the gospel. May I remind you, some people were specifically called, some called themselves and some was just simple availability.

Matthew 19:12.

For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

But I tell you, God Equips the Called, He never calls the Equipped! Availability is a key ingredient in the call of God.

“If God Calls you, He will Provide for the Vision.”

Apostle Paul is our example in this study, and our study is divided into three subheadings.

  • The Pattern of Self-Denial, 1 Corinthians 9:16-19.

As Christians, preaching the gospel of Christ and everything Christ stands for is unavoidable. We are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.

Romans 1:16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

To some we might look like fools and sound stupid, but whence we know our target and know that our goal is to win them to Christ, we ought to remain steadfast not boasting about it, nor feeling “ I have arrived.” It is a must as true Christians to preach the gospel.

1 Corinthians 1:18

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

 Jesus Christ said; if anyone wants to be His servant, he must first denial everything including his own self, pick up his cross and follow Jesus. Luke 14:25-33, Luke 9:23.

Self-denial is a must to become a true child of God. We have to denial ourselves a lot of things, from the way speak, to the way we act. We are now a new creature; our old lifestyles have been nailed to the cross.

There’s a reward for selfless service to God and mankind. We should never abuse the gift of God upon our lives. “ Those who preach the gospel must live the gospel”

 

  • Serving all men, 1 Corinthians 19-23.

As workers in the vineyard, we ought to remember,

“Your Goal is very much more Important than the Role you Play.”

If we have this at the back of our mind, certainly we will preach Christ effortlessly and selflessly. Our utmost desire for should be the desire of total flexibility. I mean we have to be flexible to change in accordance to God’s words and will. Apostle Paul became four different persons on four different occasions.

And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might, by all means, save some.

 But notice, he was still under God’s commandments and rules. He did not break any of them to please men.

He talks about becoming a Jew so that he could win the Jews; those under the law so he could win them; those without the law; and to the weak he became weak. At the end of the day, he became all things to men, in pursuit of saving them. As fellow laborers in the vineyard, we need to study our situation before we can lead the situation.

We need to add value to our work as ministers before God is going to give us direction.

  • Striving for a Crown, 1 Corinthians 26-27.

This is it!

I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 

But I keep under my body and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

There is a race to run, a crown to be worn. If we truly understand this, our walk with God will have a huge impact on our service towards the propagation of the gospel of Christ. We have to run with Focus, Train & Compete with Passion, and Fight with Purpose and Master our Flesh.

 Mr. Flesh!

Mr. flesh is one entity that refuses to let go without a fight. Romans 7:15-25, Apostle Paul was talking about the power of the flesh confronting him and trying to prevent him from serving God.

Romans 7:15

What I don’t understand about myself is that I decide one way, but then I act another, doing things I absolutely despise.

Galatians 5:16 give us the Antidote to kill the flesh, we have to walk only in the spirit and do the things that are spiritually minded.

“Watch & Pray!” notice the bible says, Watch first. We need to observe every step we are taking and everything we are doing. Focus on the high calling of God in Christ Jesus lay aside every weight of sin and never pamper our weaknesses. Deal with our internal rubbish, confront our foundation because it will spring up and destroy our calling. We need to set our affections on the things that are above, mortify our body, (fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness). We need to put off the old man, which is lying, anger, lust, greed, pride, and filthy communication. Only then can we safeguard ourselves. It is compulsory we put on the new man and practice charity (love), which is the golden rule in becoming perfect in our walk with Christ. This guarantees our finishing well. Col 3:1-17. 

Col 4:2 &17

Finally, continue in prayer and watch in the same with thanksgiving. Please take heed to the ministry, which you have receive from God, that you may fulfill it.

Have great Passion for the Work, which exceeds our Position, Gains and personal Preferences. Remain fixed on our Mission and Flexible in our Methods in Achieving it.

Remember we have to keep under our body and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means when we have preached to others, we ourselves should be a castaway.

Our goal and target are hearing those sayings from God when we have gone the last mile of the way, and we are resting at the close of the day. We only want to hear God say.

“ Well Done & Welcome Home My Good & Faithful Servant!”

Remembers the true Picture, less you lose site of the Vision. Priority is key, Discernment is Priceless.

THE PROMISES OF A NEW BEGINNING

There come a time when a new page is needed to be open, a time when a fresh start is required. A time where decisions are on the crossroad.

The new beginning is an era of new walk with Christ Jesus, an era where carnality is nailed to the cross of Christ Jesus. The new beginning is an initial and crucial stage of a closer walk with God, a time where a solid foundation is needed for a new start. The new beginning is a fresh start where by the old foundation cannot carry the new structures and standards of God.

The new beginning is a time and season where by you forget the past: past failures, trials, defeats, problems, guilt, bondage, and calamities. And you look only unto Jesus. Hebrews 12:1-2.

New beginning is an era where credibility and honesty becomes maximum priority. A time where No is No and Yes is Yes! It’s a time when purity and holiness is no more an option, but a Divine mandate.

Promises attached to the New Beginning

  1. The former things are by gone.

Isaiah 42:9:

Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

God is assuring us that old things are by gone. We cannot put a new wine into an old one it will sour it. A new start, prize, goal, and target are needed now.

God is promising to do new and great things in the new beginning. Better covenant, better start than we have had in times past.

Isaiah 43:18-19:

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

God is promising to do greater things than He has done before. God is saying forget the former things, better days are ahead.

God will do a new thing it shall spring forth. Do you get the revelation here?

Spring Forth: This means for a new thing to happen, there must be the Planting of the Lord. Isaiah 61:3b: a time where God is going to plant new things, the seed of: greatness, prosperity, purity, righteousness, holiness, success and lots more.

God is promising to make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. God is promising us, if only we can fully trust Him. God is guaranteeing us that in the new start, He will be our Shepard and we will not lack anything good. He will be our provider. Psalm 23.

  1. The promises of Mercies and Unfailing Love.

Isaiah 43:25:

I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

God is assuring us that the new start comes with total pardon. He said He has blotted out our sins. This implies the devil can no longer accuse us. The devil has no say over our lives because God Has forgiven us all.

The blood of Jesus washes us as white as snow. It cries for mercy, it speaks better things than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:24b.

God is saying, “ He will not remember our sins” our past is forgotten.

Don’t get me wrong!!!

“ Wrong doing is never right, and sin has it payday. Trust me, it is not a good payday.” But grace will find and locate us; it will help us deal with the consequences.

  1. There is complete Redemption with the New Beginning.

Isaiah 44:22:

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

Our transgression and sins are as a cloud, a thick cloud. They interpose and separate us form God. But God is still assuring us that with the decision for a new beginning, He will take away this thick cloud, this burden so we can have a better fellowship with Him.

To have a new start we only need to perform these three things

  • Walk on the High Way of Holiness: Isaiah 35:8.

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

This is the way of Godliness, the way of Holy worship, Holy conversation and most importantly: Holy living.

The way of holiness carries righteous duties in which we ought to walk and press forward with our eyes focus on Jesus, which is our ultimate goal as Christians.

  • Walk on the Old Path, the Good Old Way: Jeremiah 6:16.

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said; We will not walk therein.

This is the good old way, the old time religion. We have an Unchanging God in a Changing World. His Words, Rules and Standards remain the same!

We need to follow God and obey Him fully to benefit from this new start. It might look very difficult but it is very possible.

God wants to have a new covenant with us. Not the old ones, He wants to be our God and We His people. He wants His laws to be on the table of our hearts written there. He wants us to practice the true religion of truth and holiness.

  • Sow in Righteousness and Reap Mercy: Hosea 10:12.

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

When you sow in righteousness, you will reap mercy. God wants us to break that fallow/harden ground of sin and worldly pleasures. We need to cleanse our heart from all unfruitful affections and lust, which are as weed and be of a broken and contrite spirit.

Finally,

  • We need to be wise and very vigilant in the journey of the new beginning. We should sow a seed of holy and righteous living. We need to return to the practice of good works according to the law of God. Lets feed our faith, so our flesh can starve and loose its grip over us: Galatians 5:16.
  • Every action is a seed sown let us sow in righteousness. Let us sow what we ought to sow (Holiness and Righteous living). Let us do what we ought to do and we shall have the benefits of it.
  • To get the full benefits of the new beginning, we need to seek God and grace to press on. “ For by strength shall no man prevail.” We can’t run this race on our own, but His grace is very sufficient for us.
  • It is time for us to seek and look for God; if we do our part, He will do His. If we sow to ourselves in righteousness, if we be willing and obedient, if we be diligent and careful to do our rightful duties in dependence upon His Grace: Then He will shower down His Grace upon us and will rain Righteousness upon us. Righteousness is what we need to practice, for by the grace of God we are what we are.

Remember: 2Corinthians 7:1.Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

We have these promises but we have to cleanse ourselves from all dirt’s of the Flesh and Spirit. WE MUST PRACTICE HOLINESS IN THE FEAR OF GOD.
