“THE SEAL OF PILATE ON HIS TOMB”

It Easter season, a season when we celebrate the Death and Resurrection of Christ Jesus. Which is the center figure of Christianity.

To understand the topic we need to travel back to the beginning of bible. Let us start with genesis.

After the fall of man, Genesis 3, God cursed satan and said, “ The seed of the woman shall bruise thy head.” Genesis 3:12. From that time satan knew that a seed will be born by a woman to destroy him. He started fighting basically every person God had a covenant with. satan eyes were on them to give birth to that woman that will bring forth this special seed.

He started with Abraham and Isaac by making them barren, enter Jacob and almost made him barren, allowed Dinah to be raped made Judah commit incest with Tamar his daughter-in-law, and Ruben having sex with Jacob concubine, to joseph captivity, to Moses, to David, his daughter Tamar was raped by Amon. The list goes on. All these events did not just happen by chance, they did occur because the devil was after the seed of the woman that will bruise his head.

Jesus was sent into this word to destroy the works of the devil.

“ For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” 1John 3:8b.

The devil knew this; he understood this from the beginning of the age.

Remember I said the devil was always against people that had a covenant with God. From Abraham to Jesus there are 42 generations according to Matthew 1:2-17. If you study the Bible very well, you will notice that everyone that belongs to this genealogy of Jesus had on battle or the other to fight.

In Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, God took the devil unaware and Jesus the Messiah was born. The devil entered Herod and Herod started killing male children from two years and below all because of the Destiny and Purpose of Jesus. Jesus fled to Egypt till Herod was dead.

At thirty years of age, His ministry begun; Jesus did wonders even the Bible can’t contain all the miracles of Jesus.

When it was His time to leave, the death on the cross was inevitable. God loved the world so much and He sent His only Beloved son. “ Assuming the devil knew the death of Christ will be the remission of our sins, he wouldn’t have celebrated the death of Christ.”

At the time Christ was about to leave, many events did affirm Jesus as the son of God, from peter proclaiming Him as the son of God, to the mount of Transfiguration, the communion with his disciples, the triumphant entry into Jerusalem and unto His death. These events occurred around the Easter period.

Finally, Jesus was crucified. Mathew 27 gives a good account of it.

The Real Story. “ The Seal Of Pilate.”

After the crucifixion and death, members of the religious council including the chief priest went to Pilate and said

Mathew 27:62-6.

“62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,

63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

64 Command therefore that the sepulcher is made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.

66 So they went, and made the sepulcher sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.”

Pilate gave them the order to put guards on the tomb of Jesus, and at the door of the tomb a big Stone was placed there and the “SEAL OF PILATE” was placed on the stone.

 What is a Seal?

A seal is like a stamp, but it is a stamp of authority, it represents a person, nation or governments. Every valid law, decree or order must contain the seal of the person in power.

Seal from the Biblical point of view indicate ownership, and when every decree is made or a law is passed, it is seal with the king’s seal. Just like in the case of Esther and Daniel. A seal is a guarantee of ownership, a sign of touch not.

 The seal used by Pilate in the time of Jesus was probably stretching a cord across the stone and sealing it at both ends.

The importance of seal is so great that without it no one will obey a law. The devil felt guarding the tomb of Jesus and putting a seal on it will prevent our Lord Jesus from resurrecting. Well, he was so very wrong.

 A seal is something evident like I said it is a sign/proof of ownership. A seal is a mark. A seal can be both spiritual and physical. God place a mark (seal) on Cain after he had killed Abel his brother. Genesis 4:13-15.

Many people are carrying evil marks, I mean spiritual mark. Unseen to the physical eye, this is the reason why certain things happen to the. There are seals of greatness God Has placed on individuals just like Joseph, David, and Samuel. There are also seals of failure and bad luck placed in the lives of many people. Many people are walking about with the marks of failure, hatred, and hardship.

Apostle Paul said in Galatians 6:17. From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

This means that there are marks that people bear. Either you bear the marks of Christ or you bear the marks of the devil. You can’t hide or shy away from the dark you bear. It is so evident, the marks your bear are a reflection of who you really are.

Jabez had the marks of sorrow, his life was sorrowful until he cried aloud to God for help. The seal of bareness was on Hannah before she prayed effectually. There is nothing prayer cannot do. Prayer is the master key.

Examine your own life and ask yourself, which seal are you carrying? Is it the seal of greatness or the seal of the enemy? What pattern and event do occur in your life and your family? What happened in the lives of members of your family, are they happening in your life as well?

You need to undergo a personal physical and spiritual checkup of your life and see if an evil seal is in your life. You might argue it is not true. Ah, my dear please don’t believe!! eh because whether you believe it or not, things are happening. You need Jesus more than ever; you need the Power in the Resurrection and the Power in the Blood of Jesus to blot out every mark of the enemy placed on your life.

We are already seeing the events of the end time. It will do you a lot of good to run back to God and accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior. The only way you can cancel this seal off your life is to apply the Blood of Jesus because there is power in His Blood.

Colossian 2:14-15

14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

The seal in the tomb of Jesus was to prevent Him from resurrecting.

If they could do this to Jesus, my dear who are you? If Jesus could struggle and wrestle with death, what about you and me? But we have hope, the good news is Jesus Christ has Risen and He’s at the Right Hand of God.

Use Philippians 2:5-11 as your prayer weapon against every power antagonizing your peace. Christ Has given us the authority but we have to utilize to the fullest.

Plead the Blood of Jesus over every area of your life, and always live a Holy Life.

2 Corinthians 5:21.For he hath made him be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

1. The purity of the mediator~ He knew no sin.
2. The sacrifice He offered~ He was made Sin, not Sinner, but Sin. That is to say; A Sin-Offering, a sacrifice for Sin.
3. All these sacrifices, so ~ ” We can be made THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM!”

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.” Galatians 3:13

Christ bought us back for the curse of the law, we are no longer bondage to it, we won’t bear the pain and face the punishment of our sins no more.
He was made an atonement for sin was consider as bearing the punishment due to sin. If sin, sickness, pain, sufferings, death and all the effect of sin were a part of the curse and the result of it. Christ atoned for them all and removed them from our lives.
Christ allowed us to get the blessings of Abraham and the promise of the Holy Spirit. We can only get this through Faith in God and believe in Jesus as our Lord and personal Saviour.

The moment you made Jesus Christ Lord of your life, you were delivered from the lordship of Satan. You were redeemed from the curse. I didn’t say the curse wasn’t out there anymore. It is! You can see it all around you. But now you have a choice. You have authority over it in the Name of Jesus so you can stand against it.

God’s done everything that love can do. He sent Jesus to redeem you from the curse. The rest is up to you. Now you must appropriate what has already been done for you.

Finally, the mediator gave us boldness to enter into the Holiest by His precious blood. Hebrews 10:19.

We have daily full access to heaven at our disposal, we can talk to God whenever we want and ask anything in accordance to His words and to His glory, asking in the name of Jesus, we will have it.
The Power of the Mediator lies in His Blood. Hebrews 9:11-28 and His death on the Cross. The old covenant was faulty, man needed a sacrifice once and for all that will cleanse us all from our sins. Those of bulls and animals couldn’t get us this far.
– The Devil wrote his WILL (Testament):
Wanted us to suffer, have sicknesses, problems, lack of peace, death. But since he did not die for Man Kind, that Will is of no effect, because ” Without the Death of the Testator, the Testament (Will) is of No Effect and Invalid.
– Christ Jesus came into the scene and offered us Hope, new life, a new beginning, forgiveness of our sins, grace, love, fellowship, and in all reconciling us back to our Father, our First Love, Like in the days of Adam before the fall.
He did this going to the Cross to die for our sins, He paid the debts he did not Owe with His own blood.
Because the Bible says without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin.
Now we are Free!!! Only if we work according to His Purpose and Plan for our Life.
I encourage us this day to embrace God and His plans for redemption He Has made provision for.
