THE VALLEY OF SOREK. Judges 16:4

Judges 16:4. And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. We all know the story of the man called Samson in the Bible and the woman called Delilah. In this contest I will be talking about we Humans as Samson and the Sins we commit as Delilah. For us to understand this story and message, we first need to understand who Samson was. To cut the story short; Samson was the 14th Judge of Israel and he judged Israel for 20 years. Judges 13; 14; 15 & 16 tells us about Samson & Numbers 6 tells us about the life and rules of a nazarite. Samson was a man of miraculous birth. Just like every man born of a woman. We are all destined for greatness. Samson came in a time when Israel needed a savior. He was their hope and joy. God specifically gave his father and mother specific and detailed instructions, on how he will live his life, his dos and don’t. There were 5 commandments to the mum & dad. 1. To his Mum, make sure you drink no wine nor strong drink. Judges 13:4,7,14. 2. Eat no unclean thing. 3. No razor shall come upon his head. vs 5 4. Don’t not eat anything that comes from the vine. vs 14. 5. His father must make sure his wife ( Samson’s mother) follows […]

THE BORN AGAIN EXPERIENCE: Ephesians 2:1-10.

Ephesians 2:1-10 1. And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2. Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3. Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5. Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6. And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7. That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9. Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. In the part One of these series: We look at our miserable state of sin, when we were dead in our trespasses […]

4 STEPS IN DEVELOPING YOUR GOD GIVING GIFTS.

1. Focus on the strengths God gave you. Concentrating on your strengths will help you fulfill the calling God has put on your life. 2. Exercise your gift. Find something you like to do and that you do well, and do it over and over again. Want to know what will happen? You will feel better about yourself because you won’t be constantly failing. 3. Have the courage to be different. Unhappiness comes when you try to be like everyone else rather than embracing the unique person that you are. 4. Learn to cope with criticism. Have enough confidence in who you are in Christ that you can listen to others and be open to change without feeling you have to agree with their viewpoint or attain their approval. God has planted greatness in you. Let today be the beginning of a great adventure as you step into the gifts He’s given you. But remember this: •And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; •And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; •And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. •For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. •But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was […]
