THE FALL OF MAN & MAN’S RECONCILIATION WITH GOD.

THE FALL OF MAN. When God created man in His image and CONFERRED upon him the authority to rule the universe, it was the most sacred heritage that God could give to man. (Gen 1:28). This authority/dominion was lost when Adam voluntantly handed it over to the enemy of God which is satan the devil. Though it was the woman that was deceived, yet Adam could have averted this tragedy being the original leader of this great human movement. (Gen 3:1 – 6) satan who has received a TRANSFER of AUTHORITY by the man God originally gave it to, started operating in his new office of power. And this what the devil was even displaying at Jesus TEMPTATION. (Luke 4:1 – 13). THE RESULT OF THE FALL. Spiritual and Physical death became the result of the fall. (Gen 2:15 – 17) man became spiritually dead when the NO. 1 purpose of his being was defeated i.e. Fellowship. It was the thwarting of God’s plan. Man was spiritually alienated from God and driven from fellowship (Romans 5:12). Sin separates(Gen 3:23-24). Man became physically dead also when he fell. He was originally made to leave forever but immediately after this fall, his physical life was cut short and he was no longer supposed to live because here he chose to die by disobeying his creator God (Gen 2:17) God left man to exercise his will, else God would have fenced or barricaded […]

Week 5: God, the jealous lover

Originally posted on ElizabethFolakemi:
People may look at the title  and think I’ve finally lost it lol but let me explain. In the book of Exodus (34 vs 14) we see God telling the israelites not to worship any god aside from Him because He is jealous. In that day and age other gods were far from scarce and hard to find, whether they be golden calves or ashtoreth poles. Now, people think because they are not bowing their heads down to a pole or random statue that they are not arousing God’s jealous nature. Wrong! So many times we idolise man made things (phones, social media etc) and allow them to take presidence over reverence to God (i.e. texting/whatsapping in church). At times we even worship mere humans like ourselves. We must stop this. God must be above all things. Seldom would we interupt a conversation with friends for something insignificant so why do we do this with God. All these materials and people can do nothing for us in light of eternity. Now I am in no way saying we should become unsociable hermits but we are told to cut off whatever causes us to sin right? If you are honest with your self and know that time with your phone outweighs time with God, discipline yourself and cut it off for some time, same with social media. If you know that your admiration of someone is becoming…

4 STEPS IN DEVELOPING YOUR GOD GIVING GIFTS.

1. Focus on the strengths God gave you. Concentrating on your strengths will help you fulfill the calling God has put on your life. 2. Exercise your gift. Find something you like to do and that you do well, and do it over and over again. Want to know what will happen? You will feel better about yourself because you won’t be constantly failing. 3. Have the courage to be different. Unhappiness comes when you try to be like everyone else rather than embracing the unique person that you are. 4. Learn to cope with criticism. Have enough confidence in who you are in Christ that you can listen to others and be open to change without feeling you have to agree with their viewpoint or attain their approval. God has planted greatness in you. Let today be the beginning of a great adventure as you step into the gifts He’s given you. But remember this: •And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; •And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; •And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. •For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. •But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was […]

The High Way Called “HOLINESS.” Isaiah 35:8-10.

God Has Standard; This Standard Is Called HOLINESS! And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Isaiah 35:8-10. • The way of holiness and godliness shall be laid open. This way is an express way, both in Holy Worship and in Holy Living! Holiness is the rectitude of human nature and will, in conformity to the divine nature and will. The way of holiness is that course of religious duties in which men ought to walk and press forward, with an eye to the glory of God and their own felicity in enjoyment of Him. ~ It shall be an appointed way; not a way of sufferance, but a high way, a way into which we are directed by a divine authority and in which we are protected by a divine warrant. It’s a kings highway, in which though we may be waylaid we cannot be stopped. The way of […]
