Back To Bethel

This is a story about Jacob and Bethel. Let me first refresh your memory a little bit. Abraham gave birth to Isaac, and Isaac had two sons, actually, they were twins. Genesis 25:19-28. Esau and Jacob. If you remember the Bible said, the younger will be greater than the eldest and eldest will serve the youngest. This was already stated but you trust uncle Jacob, He stole his brother birthright and later he had to run away🚶. He later retraced his step back to God. He had a dream where he saw a ladder going into heaven and there were angels going up towards heaven and down towards earth with the ladder. He woke up from that dream and said Genesis 28:16. Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not. Notice what he did in the next verses. Genesis 28:18-22. And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. 19. And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first. 20. And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, 21. So that I come […]

One Purpose, One Target, One Goal!

Living a life of purpose is the most easiest thing to do, yet many people find it hard to live a life of purpose. There are millions of materials, books and utilities at our disposal yet man is till ignorant in finding his purpose and how to pursue it. We must live for something in life. Either something positive or negative! Bro Paul said ” For me to live is Christ and to Die is Gain! ” Phil 1:21. We have to make choices in life and these choices will be the foundation of our future. When we talk of purpose we are talking of our aim, our objectives, the reason for our existence, our intended desire, our goal and the determination to drive us through in fulfilling our God-given dream. The simplicity of life is found in our purpose and we can only achieve these purposes by obeying the standards and principles of God given to us through the Bible. Some of these principles are: 1. The love of the Father (1 John 2:15-17) This love we are talking about here is the basis of our Christianity because our Father God Almighty is love and we as His children are commanded to love one another as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us. We have to give ourselves to His agenda and purposes for our life. We have no reasons to be here but to accomplish God’s plans […]

THE STILL SMALL VOICE!

THE STILL SMALL VOICE! What is a voice? A voice can be: articulation, call, intonation, murmur, shout, sound, song, speech, utterance, vent, vocalisation, vociferation and lot more examples. In this discussion we will be looking at Voice as the act of HEARING. One of the basis of Christianity is the ability to HEAR. When God called Samuel in the Bible, it took Samuel time to understand the voice that was calling his name. Isaiah heard the voice of the Lord saying ” Who shall I send and Who shall God for Me?”. This means God wants to speak to His children, He wants us to Hear from Him. The first step of hearing the Voice of God is by Preparation. We will be looking at two powerful servants of God in the Bible, they actually represent two of the three parts of the Bible. ( THE LAW, THE PROPHETS AND THE SAVIOUR!). The law represents Moses, the prophet represent Elijah and the saviour is our Lord Jesus Christ. 1. MOSES “Being Sensitive To The Move Of Change” When God called Moses from the burning bush, he heard a Voice! The Bible says ” God communed with Him face to face, he could hear God clearly. He delivered the Israelites from slavery. The children of Israel murmured because of lack of water and Moses cried unto God and God told him STRIKE (smite) THE ROCK and water actually came out for […]

TREASURES IN EARTHEN VESSELS PART 2: ” Pressing On Despite The Hardship “

In the part one series we spoke about seeing the future from the present situation. This time we are looking on how we are to press on despite the hard-times and hardships. Taking our text from 2 Corinthians 4:13-18 13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; 14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. In life you will face hard times, you will pass through the fire, afflictions will arise, adversity will knock at your door someday! it’s guaranteed. Proverbs 24:10, Isaiah 43:2. Our focus is,” what and how are we going to scale through and press forward?” Bro Paul in […]
